Seems almost same calibre as Rosetta Stone without the high price tag (or in fact any pricetag!)

If you're planning to visit several countries, you might want to learn Esperanto. A good place to start is www.esperanto.net

Fluent French is of no use to you in India. Fluent Spanish is of no use to you in India. Esperanto has a worldwide network of speakers.

This a great review of free online language learning resources.

Like Chapman, I would like to add one more language learning resource to the list. www.edufire.com! This site offers a free active forum community where they are beginning to have forums in different languages...so that one can write and converse with native speakers, educational flachcards (words and phrases) and language videos..ALL for free! Setting up a profile is free.

Tutoring sessions via video chat have a small but affordable fee associated with each tutor.

Check it out at www.edufire.com

Great review! Really nice way to bring some of the tip top stuff together in one article.

I wanted to let readers know about freelanguage.org as well, in case they want to delve deeper into the world of free (and non-free) language learning online (and off).

Cheers for the great write up and keep up the goods!
